ARTIST BIO

DARREN RABINOWITZ is an educator and performing artist.  Originally from Morristown, New Jersey, he holds a B.A. from American University in interdisciplinary studies focused in theatre, dance, and international relations.  Rabinowitz was part of the American University Dance Company and received the Robyn Rafferty Mathais scholarship for Baggage Claim, an original one-man show drawing on his South African family roots. In 2017 he served as a Joint Distribution Committee Entwine Fellow in Rwanda at the Agahozo Shalom Youth Village where he created curricula for informal arts programming.  His artistic interests lie in the interplay of identity, history, family and the human condition. Currently, he is pursuing his M.A. at Columbia University's Teacher's College in International Educational Development with a concentration in family and community education.
